Récit de la vie de Henri Barbusse au front durant la Première Guerre mondiale, qui parut sous forme de feuilleton dans le quotidien L'Œuvre à partir du 3 août 1916, puis intégralement à la fin de novembre 1916 aux éditions Flammarion.
Abstract
A summary of the resource.
Henri Barbusse a écrit "Le feu" à partir des notes qu'il a prises lorsqu'il était poilu au front puis hospitalisé. Ce roman raconte les conditions de vie dans les tranchées : l'attente, les combats, la boue, le froid, la faim, la peur, la mort. Les soldats prennent peu à peu conscience de l'inhumanité de la guerre, décidée par des hommes politiques éloignés du front.
Ce document appartient au fonds Jean Norton Cru, constitué des ouvrages issus de sa bibliothèque personnelle, enrichis de ses annotations manuscrites.

Le docteur Henri Aimé, mobilisé en 1914 à l’hôpital de Toul, témoigne de son expérience de la guerre. La première partie est constituée de lettres qu’il a adressées à un ami officier dans lesquelles il raconte sa vie de médecin mobilisé. La deuxième partie relate l’arrivée du Dr R. à l’hôpital de Toul et son agonie. Enfin dans la dernière partie, l’auteur étudie les cas de 6 soldats blessés au front et traumatisés.
